I-SWEEEP 2008: An International Project Olympiad by Cosmos

The Cosmos Foundation is organizing an international project Olympiad called International Sustainable World Project Olympiad in the area of Energy, Environment, and Engineering (I-SWEEEP). The objective of the Olympiad is to increase the awareness of sustainability issues we are facing today in the young minds of our next generation. Thus, this competition is geared to junior and senior high school students in grades 6 thru 12 across the globe.

I-SWEEEP 2008 will be held at George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas between May 2 and 4, 2008. Students’ research projects will be presented and exhibited to the public. Projects will be judged by local teacher, industry professionals, and university personnel. Projects will be evaluated based on their scientific thought, originality, understanding of the subject matter and presentation. For more information please, click here.

The educators and leaders behind the Cosmos Foundation, parent organization of Harmony schools, are passionate about transforming how students engage in math and science. With this vision in mind, the Cosmos Foundation launched Harmony Science Academy in Houston in 2000, with 200 students. Since then, Harmony Schools have grown to nine schools and 3,200 students, and built a distinct, high-quality brand.
